Global Strategy is a module in the Global Leader Flex program and can also be taken as a stand-alone program.

The global arena is a complex puzzle of volatile markets, nuanced cultures, and relentless disruption. Tomorrow's leaders must master the art of weaving these forces into a clear and powerful strategy for enduring growth.

The Global Strategy program equips current and future leaders with the critical frameworks needed to navigate this complex and interconnected environment, where every strategic decision must account for dynamic global shifts, disruptive forces, and intense competition. It is designed to master the art and science of formulating and executing winning strategies on a global scale, transforming functional managers into visionary strategists. Participants will learn to analyze industries, anticipate market shifts, and allocate resources effectively to drive sustainable growth and build a durable competitive advantage for their organizations.

4.5 ECTS credits can be transferred from the Global Strategy program to the Aalto Executive MBA or Aalto MBA program.

The Global Strategy program is designed for organizations seeking to build strategic capability and develop the next generation of leaders who can navigate global complexity. Content and Schedule

Global Strategy comprises a self-paced online course, a two-day live online module, a written pre-assignment, and a take-home assignment. The program is worth 4.5 ECTS credits.

The Global Strategy program provides a comprehensive toolkit for global leadership, covering core strategic pillars including global business models, competitive advantage, and market entry strategies. Participants will master frameworks for managing business portfolios across regions, while developing strategic agility in volatile environments. The curriculum also addresses crucial human dimensions through cross-cultural leadership and global negotiation skills.

Taija Turunen

Taija Turunen is an Associate Professor of Design Management at Aalto University School of Business.

Her work centers on curiosity, change, and ethics in organizations, exploring how leaders introduce novelty, whether through innovative products, services, or business models, and how these shifts challenge existing values and reshape organizational culture.

With experience as both a management consultant and a board member in manufacturing and service industries, Taija bridges cutting-edge research with practice. She has developed tools and methods that help leaders navigate transformation, rethink assumptions, and turn disruption into opportunity.

Her international academic journey has taken her to the University of Cambridge, University of Technology Sydney, and Stanford University, enriching her global perspective on leadership and organizational change. Driven by a passion for learning and pedagogy, Taija empowers leaders to embrace change with curiosity and confidence.
