Aalto MBA Alumni Reconnect: Leading in the Age of Uncertainty

In a world reshaped by geopolitical uncertainty and powerful new technologies, leaders must continuously renew their thinking to stay ahead. The Leading in the Age of Uncertainty program brings Aalto MBA, Executive MBA, and DBA alumni together to explore what has changed since graduation and what it means for how they lead.

Content and Schedule

The Aalto MBA Alumni Reconnect comprises a three-day program on November 26–28, 2026, consisting of pre-readings, lectures, and case and group discussions.

Day 1: Navigating Uncertainty and Disruption

Day 2: The Human Capacity for Strategic Foresight

  • Sensing change early, challenging assumptions, and turning uncertainty into strategic action

Instructors

Christel Berghäll

Christel Berghäll’s expertise lies in coaching senior executives, developing senior teams, and developing leadership cultures to drive needed changes to achieve business objectives and implement the strategy.

Her career has been international throughout and she has worked and lived in Finland, Germany, Spain and China and worked as a short-term expert in Africa for many years.

Berghäll brings with her experience both from the corporate and entrepreneurial world. She previously worked as a human resources senior executive at Amer Sports Corporation and YIT Corporation and as a Business Director for Center for Creative Leadership Nordics. She has also worked with Nokia Corporation and SAP in strategic HR and communication roles. After her corporate career, she set up her own business focusing on Executive Coaching, Senior Team Coaching, Facilitation and Organizational Leadership consultancy. Currently she is working part time as a Head of Career Business at Mercer focusing on Strategic Talent Solutions and dedicates the other half of her time to Executive Coaching in her own business at Step Beyond Ltd.

Christel holds a Master’s degree in economics (M.Sc. econ.) in international economics and has completed her Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching in London, UK. She is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) by International Coach Federation (ICF)  and a Master Accredited coach by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). Christel is also a certified Foresight Practitioner at the Institute for the Future, USA, a Certified Agile HR Coach and a certified career and job transition coach.

Henri Schildt

Henri Schildt is a Professor of Strategy at Aalto University School of Business and Aalto University School of Science.

Professor Henri Schildt’s research interests span technology strategy, organizational change, and strategy process (with specific interest in reasoning under uncertainty and the use of data analytics). He is currently heading two research programs on data-driven management and the management of digitalization in Finnish manufacturing companies.

He is a tenured professor with a joint appointment at the Aalto University School of Business and the School of Science’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.

Henri Schildt completed his PhD at Helsinki University of Technology in 2007.

Mikael Wigell

Dr. Mikael Wigell is the Founder & CEO at Economic Security Forum.

Wigell is a globally recognized authority on geoeconomics, economic security, and strategic risk. He is the Founder and CEO of the Economic Security Forum (ESF), a pioneering platform that bridges public and private actors to strengthen strategic resilience amid mounting geopolitical and economic disruption.

He has advised institutions such as the IMF, OECD, European Parliament, and Finnish Government, and serves as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the journal Law & Geoeconomics and has held visiting fellowships at the University of Cambridge and Oxford University. Formerly Research Director at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, Mikael has played a leading role in conceptualizing the shift from market capitalism to strategic capitalism, coining key frameworks now widely used in corporate and political risk analysis.

With a PhD from the London School of Economics, Wigell combines academic depth with hands-on experience advising large companies and national security agencies. His latest book, The Age of Geoeconomics, explores how economic instruments – from export controls to industrial policy – reshape global strategy.
