The training programs respond to the growing need for skills in the health technology sector and support product development, implementation, regulatory knowledge, and commercialization and export capabilities in the field. Health technology is a strategically important sector for Finland, combining expertise in healthcare, technology, and business. The sector's international growth potential is significant.

Innovation, productization, and safe use in health technology require multidisciplinary expertise spanning health sciences, medicine, technology, business, and law. At the same time, the sector is shaped by strong and continuously evolving regulation, which places demands on maintaining up-to-date skills. SECLE's training programs aim to increase competence in the productization of health technology, the utilization of new solutions, and the regulatory landscape, as well as to strengthen the development of business models and support the sector's export potential.

As part of the procurement, Aalto EE will deliver four courses covering the key areas of health technology:

Health Technology Product Development, covering the stages of the product development process, health data and data protection, identifying user needs, service design in health technology, and key technologies in the field.

Health Technology Implementation and Utilization, focusing on implementation processes in different operating environments, leadership and staff engagement, information security, and risk assessment.

Legislation and Standards, addressing EU regulation, national oversight and standards, as well as regulation governing device manufacturing and use.

Health Technology Commercialization and Export Expertise, covering international markets, commercialization strategies and pricing models, internationalization, financing options, and export regulation.

Participants can choose the courses best suited to their needs. The programs are designed to be completed alongside work and are delivered in a practical, hands-on format that includes online lectures, interactive exercises, and collaboration with industry professionals and experts.

"Health technology is a strategically important and rapidly evolving sector for Finland, where the need for skills is continuously changing alongside regulatory and technological developments. Through these training programs, we want to strengthen the expertise of professionals in the field, from product development all the way to commercialization and export," says Hanna-Riikka Myllymäki, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Aalto EE.

The training programs are aimed particularly at software, device, and service developers in the health technology sector, entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in the field, individuals involved in procurement and implementation at social welfare and healthcare organizations, and people working in sales and marketing at health technology companies. The free-of-charge training is also open to individuals outside the workforce who are interested in the topic. Participants must reside in Finland. The training will be delivered in English.

The SECLE-funded training programs are free of charge for participants and their employers and will be delivered during 2026–2027.

Registration will open in early autumn 2026, and the first courses will begin in September 2026.
