Location: Live online

Welcome to the third installment of Aalto EE’s Built Environment webinar series, titled “Laatu rakennusalalla – kohti systeemistä muutosta.”

The series has explored the transformation of the construction industry step by step. In the first webinar, Professor Jukka Heinonen outlined the big picture of a sustainable built environment: how climate goals, new material solutions, and a changing operating environment are shaping the industry’s future growth. In the second webinar, Arto Saari applied this theme to practical terms by asking whether buildings can be designed today with tomorrow’s reuse in mind—that is, how the circular economy is realized at the level of building components.

Sustainable and recyclable construction, however, requires one fundamental thing: the building must be constructed according to plans and to a high standard of quality. In this third webinar, Associate Professor Antti Peltokorpi and Professor Olli Seppänen from Aalto University’s School of Engineering return to this fundamental principle and review the recent final report of the Building 2030 project’s recent final report, which reveals why quality issues recur in the construction industry from one project to the next and what their systemic causes are.

This webinar series is part of Aalto EE’s Built Environment training program. You’ll also encounter the same topics and experts in the Kestävä rakennuttaja program, which also prepares participants for RAPS certification.

The webinar is free of charge and in Finnish. We will share the webinar recording with all registrants after the event.
