Digital Strategy, AI, and Data-Driven Business is a study module in the Leading Digital Transformation program and can also be taken as a stand-alone program.

Organizations that have yet to undergo a digital transformation risk being left behind, while industry leaders are using data and smart algorithms ever more broadly to better serve their customers and create value for shareholders.
The Digital Strategy, AI, and Data-Driven Business program provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the ongoing changes in strategy and management practice brought about by contemporary digital technologies. The readings, case studies, and class discussions will help you understand how to rethink the sources of competitive advantage, offerings, and the broader operating model in a traditional company.
If the participant successfully completes the program and later enrolls in the Aalto Executive MBA or MBA program, up to 4.5 ECTS credits may be recognized toward MBA studies within five years.

Content and Schedule
Digital Strategy, AI, and Data-driven Business comprises a three-day study module, a written pre-assignment and a take-home assignment. The program is worth 4.5 ECTS credits.
This program explores how emerging digital technologies are transforming economic logics, strategies, and business models, and applies these insights across both established and emerging industries. You will gain a solid understanding of competitive and collaborative digital strategies while learning to identify AI and data-driven business opportunities that balance innovation with governance, ethics, and risk management. The program also addresses how management priorities and mindsets must evolve to prepare organizations for the adoption of agentic and autonomous technologies.
Instructor
Henri Schildt
Henri Schildt is a Professor of Strategy at Aalto University School of Business and Aalto University School of Science.
Professor Henri Schildt’s research interests span technology strategy, organizational change, and strategy process (with specific interest in reasoning under uncertainty and the use of data analytics). He is currently heading two research programs on data-driven management and the management of digitalization in Finnish manufacturing companies.
He is a tenured professor with a joint appointment at the Aalto University School of Business and the School of Science’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.
Henri Schildt completed his PhD at Helsinki University of Technology in 2007.
