Aalto EMBA Has the Most Satisfied Participants in the Nordic Countries in the Prestigious Financial Times Ranking

The Aalto Executive MBA program has once again been selected as one of the world’s top hundred best EMBA programs out of approximately four thousand programs. The annual ranking is published by the business publication Financial Times.

This year, the overall ranking of the Aalto Executive MBA program in the FT ranking was 88, which means an increase of five places from the year 2021.

“The Financial Times Executive MBA ranking is one of the most important international comparisons in our industry. Year after year, the list lives on a lot as programs disappear from the list and new ones come to replace them. I am especially proud that the Aalto EMBA has been included in the ranking continuously since 2006. Only around twenty programs have a similarly glorious history,” says Aalto EE’s Academic Director, Mikko Laukkanen.

The Financial Times EMBA ranking consists of sixteen criteria weighted in different ways. The overall satisfaction with the program of Aalto EMBA participants is the fifth highest in Europe, and in the Nordic countries, the program is the clear number one on this indicator. The effectiveness of the program is evidenced by the high graduation rate, which is as high as 98%. Measured by the participants’ work experience, the Aalto EMBA also ranks in the top thirty globally.

“The program as a whole is an immensely well-planned holistic change journey. It completely changes the way you think about yourself as a person and a leader, and consequently, the way in which you lead the ecosystem around you,” emphasizes SOK’s Senior Vice President Marketing, an alumnus of the program Lauri Toivonen.

FT Ranking is based both on data provided directly by the participants to the Financial Times and on statistical data produced by universities. The respondents in the ranking are always participants who graduated from the Executive MBA program three years ago.

“As the ranking shows, one of the absolute strengths of the Aalto EMBA program is its highly experienced participants. Despite of the uncertain times, the contents and structure of the program have remained up to date and are constantly being developed. For this reason, the program succeeds to attract experienced participants to join who understand the importance of lifewide learning and self-development, creating a unique environment for all participants in the group to learn and network with each other,” notes the Director of Degree Programs at Aalto EE, Kerttu Kuokkanen.

This year, at the top of the FT EMBA ranking were the joint program of the US-based Northwestern and Hong Kong-based HKUST, as well as the EMBA program of the Chinese-based Ceibs. HEC Paris and the pan-European ESCP also made it to the top of the ranking.

Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE) is among the top 50 organizations in the world in the FT’s Executive Education ranking, which was published last time in May 2022. In this ranking, Aalto EE’s overall ranking was 34.
