Have you ever wondered how to effectively utilize data in your expert work? The course “Utilizing Data in Expert Work” provides you with tools to tackle this challenge. The course is designed as supplementary training that can be completed alongside your job. It is funded by JOTPA and is free for participants.

The course covers the following areas:

  1. Foundations of Data Usage: You’ll learn about data organization, storage, quality, data ethics, and security.
  2. Data Visualization and Interpretation: Explore data visualization and its significance in decision-making.
  3. Data-Driven Approach in Companies: How can a company become data-driven? What does data-driven mean in practice?
  4. Data in Business: Familiarize yourself with various tools for utilizing data in business operations.
  5. Strategic Use of Data: Understand how data can be leveraged in different business contexts.
  6. Information Management vs. Data-Driven Decision-Making: Clarify your understanding of these concepts and their differences.
  7. Utilizing Artificial Intelligence: Learn about the features of AI and discover practical examples of its application.

Learning Objectives:

After the course, you will have a general understanding of data, its utilization, data ethics, and the benefits of data in various business contexts. You’ll grasp the requirements for modern data-driven decision-making and the opportunities it presents for improving business operations. Additionally, you’ll learn to identify situations where data-driven decision-making is not suitable, as well as the challenges and risks associated with it in different business contexts. The course also introduces various analysis tools that assist in processing and reporting collected data, enabling you to present data visually and use it as decision support in your expert work.


Lectures and Seminars:

The course includes 8 hours of online lectures and 8 hours of seminar-style in-person classes. This combination provides a versatile learning experience where you can deepen your knowledge of utilizing data in expert work.

Learning Journals:

You will maintain learning journals for four self-selected lectures. Write down the key takeaways and consider how you can apply what you’ve learned in your own work or studies. You can also reflect on how the lecture content relates to your specific job. These learning journals will help you deepen your understanding and reflect on the topics covered during the lectures.

Project Work / Problem-Based Case Work:

In the course “Utilizing Data in Expert Work,” project work / problem-based case work is an essential part of the learning process. Through these practical tasks, you’ll apply the theoretically acquired skills to real-world situations. These hands-on assignments will enhance your understanding of data utilization and prepare you to apply what you’ve learned in your own expert work.
