Sahimaa teaches the course Strategies and Management for Circular Economy in Aalto University School of Business. In his research, he has especially studied the systemic challenges of municipal waste management and textile sectors from the circular economy point of view. He strives towards multi-disciplinarity and systemic understanding of phenomena both in teaching and research activities.

Sahimaa defended his doctoral thesis in Aalto University School of Engineering. His work and study background is a combination of engineering sciences and sustainability in business.
