Since September 2019, Michael Kitson has been the Director of the MBA Programme at Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS). He is also an Assistant Director of the Centre for Business Research (CBR), Cambridge, and is Hub Director of the UK-Innovation Research Centre.

His research interests lie in macroeconomic policy and performance; international trade; regional economics; corporate performance; innovation and the commercialisation of science.
