Course Structure and Teaching Methods

MBA courses are offered in the form of flexible 1.5-week courses taught by faculty from the world's leading business schools.

• 10 core courses
• 7 elective courses
• a self-development process
• a business project
• an optional study tour
• an optional exchange period abroad

Classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and on Saturday mornings; with a total of 30 contact hours per course, followed by an exam.

Sessions are highly interactive. A variety of teaching methods are used, including case studies, guided discussions, group projects, business games and lectures. Class attendance is mandatory.

Students can select electives in three areas of concentration: Applied Finance and Accounting, Entrepreneurship or Managing Innovation and Renewal. The Aalto Part-time MBA students can also undertake some of the courses as exchange students at one of our top international partner universities.
