Aalto EE:n alumneja ovat kaikki Aalto University Executive Educationin ja sen edeltäjien avoimen tai tutkinto-ohjelman suorittaneet henkilöt.

A panel discussion with leading experts to share ideas and discuss the many aspects of being an entrepreneur.

Aims of the evening: Panel members will share their personal experiences of being entrepreneurs or advising entrepreneurs. In their testimonials, the panelists will cover some vital topics, such as, how to turn inventive ideas into innovative scalable businesses. They will talk about ways to protect your inventions and intellectual property rights. Raise early-stage capital. Select and develop working relationships with board members. They will illustrate some of the “do’s and don’ts” of carrying out joint ventures, M&A deals, or shareholder agreements. They will share with the audience their insights on how others have successfully scaled-up high-growth businesses.

Why come?  Meet some interesting people; Listen to fresh ideas. The panel members have very diverse backgrounds and nationalities. They have worked with entrepreneurs involved in everything from biotech, medical devices, ICT, to the world of Milan fashion and Formula One racing sports. The panelists are a cross-section of alumni from Aalto School of Business, Aalto School of Engineering, University of Helsinki, University of Western Australia, and Stanford Graduate School of Business. Nationalities represented are Finnish, Swiss-American, and Italian-Australian.

Panelists:

Anthony Indaimo is Chairman and Commercial Practice Group Leader of Withers LLP, a global law firm dedicated to the business, personal, and philanthropic interests of entrepreneurs. Anthony is experienced at helping firms raise capital, complete intricate cross-border transactions and joint ventures. He advises a wide range of clients including leading entrepreneurs from the Milan fashion industry to Formula One racing, soccer, biotech, and leading luxury design firms. Withers LLP was established in 1896 in London. The firm grew and now has offices in Geneva, Zurich, New York, Greenwich, New Haven, Milan, British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Antti Pirnes is Chairman and Co-Founder of Patiq Ltd, a patent search and business intelligence company based in Finland.  Antti works closely with high-tech entrepreneurs and venture capitalists who wish to identify new technology opportunities or who seek advice on patent searches, intellectual property (IP) protection or IP infringement issues.

Seppo Luode is a professional Board Member and Advisor to several leading medical technology and life science companies.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Biohit Oyj, a publicly listed Finnish biotechnology company specializing in diagnostics and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases and Mobidarm Oy, a start-up in mobile healthcare information management.

Constance Lütolf-Carroll is an entrepreneur and educator. She is Lecturer at ESADE Business School, in Spain, since 1986. She has been teaching, since 1997, as a Visiting Professor at Aalto University School of Business and was named the Saastamoinen Foundation Visiting Professor for 2002. She is also visiting professor at other prominent business schools in Europe and South Korea. Connie is the lead author of a best-selling guide for entrepreneurs and their advisors titled From Innovation to Cash Flows, published in 2009 by John Wiley & Sons. Co-panelists Antti Pirnes and Anthony Indaimo helped Connie write this comprehensive reference book for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Sami Torstila is Associate Professor of Finance at Aalto University School of Business. Sami has held academic teaching and research positions at Aalto University and its predecessor Helsinki School of Economics since 1997. Sami’s research has been published in leading scientific journals. He is an expert on mergers & acquisitions.
