Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE), Finland has further strengthened its position in the annual Financial Times Executive Education ranking. Aalto EE improved three positions from last year, with a global ranking of 41^st. The Financial Times ranking includes only the top 50 executive education providers. Globally, executive education and MBA programs are offered by around 4,000 institutes.

Aalto University Executive Education, Finland and ESADE, one of Europe’s leading business schools, plan to produce a joint International Design Business Management (IDBM) program. In addition to Europe, targeted market areas include Latin America and Asia.

Year 2012 was excellent for Aalto University Executive Education, Finland: turnover grew, profit improved and activities expanded into Sweden and Russia. In 2012, consolidated turnover reached almost EUR 12 million (EUR 10 million in 2011) and operating profit exceeded one million euros (EUR 0.7 million).

With the Thirst for Knowledge annual award, Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE) acknowledges an organisation or individual who showcases openness, courage, boundary breaking and learning from experimenting and doing.Aalto EE also awards an annual Best Teacher of the Year Award.

The Finnish economy is largely dependent on large corporations but, as focus areas, demand, employment and investments are gradually shifting outside Finland. This was revealed by a study involving the largest 250 Finnish companies, conducted by the Nordic Institute of Business and Society (NIBS), a think tank set up by professors of Aalto University School of Business.

Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE), Finland, is launching a reform of its organizational structures and operating methods, in order to create more favorable conditions for future growth. This process is being carried out in accordance with chapter six of the Cooperation Act. Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE) earned the top overall rating in a corporate image survey by Finnish market research company Taloustutkimus Oy. The survey covered 26 firms providing education in the Greater Helsinki catchment area. Aalto EE achieved an overall grade of 8.30, while the sector average was 7.68.

Recent economic stimulus measures have intensified the debt spiral for both the public and private sectors. "For debtor countries, the situation is worsening from month to month. Democratic decision-making processes do not provide a natural system for solving difficult economic issues," says Vesa Puttonen, Professor of Finance at Aalto University.

Miro Malmelin has been appointed Senior Account Director of Aalto University Executive Education, as of 7 January 2013. Malmelin has extensive experience of various tasks in the field of international executive education and development. Previous posts include a position in Hong Kong as Director of Business Development at Right Management career consulting firm, and Business Director of Hanken & SSE Executive Education.

The Aalto University School of Business improved its position in the Financial Times' ”European Business Schools Rankings 2012” published on 3rd December, rising to 21^st out of the 80 best European business schools listed. Last year, it came 22^nd out of 75 business schools.

Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE) and Aalto University have jointly launched a new international Doctor of Business Administration program, the Aalto Executive DBA. The Aalto Executive DBA is designed for experienced executives who wish to complete a doctoral program alongside their work. This working-life oriented program includes applied research.

The first work published by Aalto EE Publishing, Johtajuuden seitsemän syntiä (“The Seven Sins of Leadership”) questions the predominant truths in our leadership culture. The book will be published on Wednesday October 31.
